As the founder of Eat to Lose, Inc., Andi Holyfield, Registered Dietitian and Licensed Nutritionist, has established one of the region’s most trusted nutrition practices, helping people of all ages pursue healthy lifestyles through evidence-based guidance and a practical approach to food. Her philosophy is simple: food should be both enjoyable and transformative.

She’s known for translating clinical nutrition into everyday swaps that drive progress without vilifying favorite foods. Working in partnership with physicians, Andi’s program supports sustainable weight loss, diabetes management, and improved lipid panels, changes that may help clients reduce reliance on medications. For clients using GLP1 medications, she provides strategies to protect muscle, maintain energy, and support long-term success.
Andi’s drive to build something of her own started early. Raised in a family of entrepreneurs, she watched her grandfather, Jessie Gilstrap, grow Trenton Appliance in West Monroe, and later saw her parents expand the business with a new location. Their work ethic and their advice still define her work today: if you love what you do, success will follow.
At 14, she put that belief into practice by launching a swim school she ran for 14 years. While studying at Louisiana Tech University, she moved from the pool to the gym to teach an aerobics class. When one class turned into three, she had to hire additional instructors to meet demand. These early ventures taught her how to build trust through coaching and create change through consistency.
After graduation, Andi spent seven years as a clinical RD and LDN at St. Francis Hospital and P&S Surgical Hospital, laying the foundation for her later work. Opening Eat to Lose, Inc., she offered customized six-week plans paired with InBody assessments to measure body composition and track progress. Results and referrals helped the business flourish.
Eat to Lose, Inc., provides comprehensive nutrition services tailored to a range of needs, including bariatric care, weight management, and disordered eating. She is the author of Eat to Lose and The Bariatric Guidebook.
In recognition of her passionate and compassionate support of clients across life stages and health goals, Andi Holyfield was selected by BayouLife readers as the Top Nutritionist for 2026.
